However, Oldham called me last night and told me that they wanted to reach a settlement with me so that I could join Plymouth on a permanent basis instead.
"It has thrown a spanner in the works now because everything was agreed for a loan switch, so at the moment everything is on hold.
"I'm heading back up to Oldham to have a chat with them and see where we go from here, but I was a little annoyed at the time because no one likes to see all the hard-work put into making this loan move happen go to waste at the 11th hour.
"Nothing surprises me in football, but hopefully we can get things sorted and I can join Plymouth permanently because it is a club that ticks so many boxes for me.
"It does mean dropping down a division, but it is a club that I have been interested in for a while, with my family not too far away in Wales.
"Hopefully, I can get things sorted out with Oldham and we can resurrect something with Plymouth then.
"I'm hoping to get it sorted pretty quickly, but some days things run smoothly and things take no time at all and other times they drag on for weeks.
"They've got a game on Saturday and I'd like to start the season with them if possible, but it depends what happens with Oldham first and foremost."
