Enigmatic paceman Mitchell Johnson took 6-31 as Australia won the first one-day international against Sri Lanka by seven wickets.
The left-armer's figures were the fourth-best by an Australian in one-dayers as he tore through the hosts' middle order in Kandy.
They were all out for 191 inside 42 overs and the target proved simple for the tourists, with Shane Watson, Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke all passing 50 as they reached their target with 11.5 overs to spare.
Having won the toss, Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan initially looked at ease against the Aussie pace attack, with a succession of fours in the opening overs.
But with the partnership on 54, Tharanga was the first wicket to fall for 34, bowled by Xavier Doherty, and Dilshan followed three overs later with David Hussey taking the catch at mid-on from a Doug Bollinger delivery.
