Gary Megson was happy to see Sheffield Wednesday draw Premier League opposition after disposing of Blackpool in the Carling Cup.
The Owls booked their place in round two on Thursday after surviving a hard-fought contest with Ian Holloway's Seasiders at Hillsborough.
With the tie having failed to produce a goal after 120 minutes of action, the contest went to a penalty shootout.
Wednesday kept their nerve to secure a 4-2 success and will now go to Blackburn in the second round.
"It's a good draw, to be playing a Premier League team," Megson told Sky Sports.
"It's great because our supporters will go there in numbers and create a good atmosphere. We would have preferred to have been at Hillsborough, but such is life."
