Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso has defended manager Alex McLeish following his move from Birmingham City in the summer.
McLeish managed Birmingham from 2007 to 2011 and left the Blues at the end of last season following their relegation from the Premier League.
The 52-year-old then controversially took over the managerial post at Villa Park, with a section of the club's fans protesting against his appointment.
However, Delfouneso believes that McLeish should not be vilified for his decision and is confident that he will achieve success with Villa.
"His (McLeish's) move from the Blues to Villa is well documented, but it's football and things like this happen in football," he told Sky Sports News.

At the weekend Rangers manager Ally McCoist admitted that he is having second thoughts of signing the Spaniard, but McLeish remains hopeful that the transfer will finally go through.
"Carlos is a very good experienced player," the Villa boss told The Express & Star. "I think Rangers have gone cold on the idea so, as far as we are concerned, he is a Villa player.
"He is a solid defender and did a tremendous job for Rangers when he was up there in his first spell. He is a terrific defender and is very experienced cover.
