It seems to be bad news all the time. The rich are getting richer and getting away with it, and the poor are getting poorer, and paying for it. No matter which newspaper you read, TV news you watch, or radio news you listen to, you are bound to get depressed about it. Why, because, it is depressing when you hear it. Bankruptcies, layoffs, and cutbacks, are the stories we hear constantly. It could be someone you know who lost his or her job, or even worse -- it could've been you! So what do you do about it?
You reinvent yourself - from the top down, from your head to your toes. You start to think differently than everyone else, no matter how powerful the influence of the sad and sobering facts of reality. You must, or you will go down a black-hole into a bad mindset that sets like concrete around your feet.
Do you want to know something profound? Reality is only a state of mind! At any given time and in any given space there are people who are positive and people who were negative. Even in the midst of a war zone children still laugh and play. How about your favorite pet? They are in the same time and space as you, yet they are still happy to see you.
What makes children and pets different? Their state of mind makes them different. Granted, maybe they are not as smart as you or I, or don't have enough knowledge of the cold hard facts of reality, but perhaps they have more wisdom, the simple childlike wisdom to think positive, to play, to plan fun things, and to do new things.
About a year ago I was getting depressed, so I started to look within myself, and ask myself what I really wanted to do that is different than what I am doing today. I was stuck in a 40 hour work week doing the same old drudgery, and I was desperately bored and going down that pit. So I began to seek, and lo and behold, just like the Scriptures say, I found! I ask myself, if I could find just one thing I would enjoy that I could do right now to prepare for a new future, what would it be? To my surprise I found two! Yes, God can do exceedingly and abundantly beyond we ask or think.
I started to listen to inspiring audio files on my MP3 player, wonderful things like "As A Man Thinketh", "The Science of Getting Rich", and "The Master Key System". I renewed my mind - and still am. New thoughts and ideas began to come in like a flood.
I have always imagined myself becoming a real estate investor, so I began to investigate tax deed sales, because foreclosures are increasing - everyone knows that. I bought some CDs and later took an online course. I made my plans, began the first thing, started a website, and discovered the second thing. I discovered online marketing! In particular, affiliate marketing. Now I have two new businesses and three new websites. I no longer work 40 hours a week; I now work 80 hours a week! But every minute is as enjoyable as it can be. Every spare moment that I am not working at my regular job or sleeping (you must rest that body or it will pay you back) I am developing my new life and my exciting new future.
