Ally McCoist has admitted he is unlikely to add to his Rangers squad before Thursday night's Europa League clash with Maribor.
The Ibrox boss had hoped to bolster his resources ahead of Wednesday night's registration deadline and had been linked with United States skipper Carlos Bocanegra.
There had also been attempts to broker a deal to recruit Alejandro Bedoya from Swedish side Orebro immediately after the player agreed a pre-contract to arrive in January.
But McCoist says he is now preparing to head into the play-off first leg in Slovenia with the players already at his disposal.
He said: "There is no update at all unfortunately. It looks like, at this moment in time, the boys who have travelled will be the boys who will be asked to do the job."
McCoist admits he has put thoughts of signing Bocanegra from St Etienne to the back of his mind as he concentrates on the game against Maribor.
He added: "We have got a game on Thursday night and that's what I'm focusing on.
Most of the people who tell you how to use a figure twister will never mention this part. You should never use a figure twister on an empty stomach, nor should you be full. You need energy to have a good exercise session, so you should have some light carbohydrates 15 minutes before you start your exercise. Do not stuff yourself with food. With a full stomach, you may not be able to perform even a single twist. One more thing, wear the right gear for the exercise, your movements should not get restricted because of what you have worn.
